摘要：A fuel assembly comprises a channel box (1), upper and lower tie plates (2, 3)fixed to the upper and lower portion of the channel box (1) and a bundle of fuel rods (7,8) enclosed in the channel box and retained by the upper and lower tie plates (2, 3). The
bundle of fuel rods (7, 8) includes ordinary fuel rods (7) containing fissile material notcontaining gadolinia, and gadolinia-containing rods (8) each containing gadolinia thereinand having a larger outer diameter than that of the ordinary fuel rod (7). The gadolinia-containing rod (8) has pellets enclosed in a closed cladding (81), and the outer diametersof the pellets also are larger than these of fuel pellets of the ordinary fuel rods (7).
