2019中考英语阅读理解精编(3)

第一篇

(2019中考教育类选练)

Escaping (逃) from a fire is a serious matter. Knowing what to do during a fire can save your life. It is important to know the ways you can use and show them to everyone in the family, for example, you can use stairways, roofs and fire escapes, but no lifts. From the lower floors of buildings, to escape through windows is possible. The second floor window is usually not very high from the ground. It is safer to jump a short way than to stay in a burning building. Windows are also useful while you are waiting for help. Be sure to keep the door closed, before opening the window. Otherwise, smoke and fire may be drawn into the room. Keep your head low next to the window to be sure you get fresh air.

Here are some tips on how to stay safe in earthquakes. Stay inside and duck and cover. Get under a desk or table, or stand in a corner or under a doorway. Cover your head and neck with your arms. Stay in your seat if in a cinema or a theater. Get below the level of the back of the sea and cover your head and neck with your arms. Try to stay away from kitchens, where there are often many objects that might fall or get hurt.

It is necessary for all to keep the traffic rules in mind and obey them strictly. When one crosses the street, he should take the crosswalk , underground passage or pedestrian overpass. Keep riding on the right side of the road. When the red light is on, please stop and wait until the green light is on. It is important to let the children know that playing on the road is very dangerous. Helping the aged and children cross the road is always a kind deed. If everyone obeys the traffic rules, it will be much safer to walk or ride on the road.

第三篇

Yesterday evening, when I went to town with my mother, we met a strange old man. It was raining hard and we had no umbrella(伞). We were trying to get into a taxi when he came up to us. He was carrying a nice umbrella and he said that he would give it to us for only a pound. He had forgotten his wallet, he said, needed taxi-fare(出租汽车费) to go back home. My mother didn’t believe what he had said at first, and asked him a lot of questions. But the old man didn’t get into a taxi. We followed(跟随) him and found he went into a pub(小酒店) and bought himself a glass of whiskey (威士忌) with the pound. After he drank it, he put on his hat and took up one of the many wet umbrellas there and went off with the new one. Soon after that, he sold it again.

1. The old man sold an umbrella to the writer and her mother.

2. He gave it to them for only a pound because he had forgotten his wallet and needed taxi fare to go back home.

3. The umbrella was worth more than one pound. 4. The old man sold his own umbrella. 5. He was an honest man. 【答案及解析】

1. A 推理判断题。虽然文中不可直接找到答案,但由后文的bought himself a glass of whiskey (威士忌) with the pound.中pound前用的是the(那) 和he sold it again中的again(又)可推断出,作者和他母亲买了那个老人的伞。

After the Spring Festival, I found some of my mom’s daily habits have changed. Her cooking way was different. Vegetables that had been cooked crisply became very tender and soft. Fish that had been fried became soup. Her old shredded (切成细条的) potato turned into diced potato… Feeling strange, dad and I asked Mom the reason for the change. But all she said was, “Just trying a different taste”. Then she was silent.

But it wasn’t just her cooking way. Mom also change other habits. After dinner, instead of watching films on TV as usual, she would put on her newly-bought sports clothes and asked Dad to go out for a walk. After they came back home, mom would lose herself in magazines or newspapers about healthcare. Mom almost never gets sick. Why was she suddenly interested in medicine?

I couldn’t understand her “abnormal” behavior. Then one day I came across her micro blog(博客). “While visiting my parents during the Spring Festival, I suddenly realized that they are in their 70s now,” my mom had written. “They move slowly and it is hard for them to do the housework. I should visit them more often… “Some cooking should be changed to keep them healthy. They like fish soup, diced potato, tender and soft vegetables…

“I must also keep fit by doing physical exercise. If my parents are too weak to move around, I can be strong enough to take care of them. When I am old, my son can also pay less attention to taking care of me…”

When I read this, I felt very sorry. I used to complain that Mom didn’t understand me and couldn’t give me everything I wanted. I always thought there was a wide gap(沟) between us.
