Whether to Let the Classics Be Classics

The issue whether to let the classics be classics has aroused widely

public concern.Some people suggest that the classics should be treasured.Because they are the quintessences of history and culture and have irreplaceable value.On the contrary,some people think that it is no use of reading the classics,which are the wisdom of the past and cannot adapt to contemporary society.

As far as I am concerned,we should treat classics with strict attitudes,taking the essence while discarding the dross.

I think it necessary to advocate to read more classical books.The reasons are as follows.Reading the classics is both important and beneficial to the character development and personal growth of the young people.It can elevate one's aesthetic taste and deepen the understanding of the glorious history and traditional culture.At the same time,we should be fully aware of the important role the classics play in broadening one's horizon and enriching our knowledge in many aspects.And they also provide a chance for people to enhance their aesthetic taste in that most of the classics have a very beautiful or unique language style and arts,which gives readers more enjoyment and interest.Moreover,it can bring joy and happiness when reading those masterpieces created even by great figures.So it is wrong to consider classics a out-of-date matter because they still have many important functions and influence on our society and our daily lives.

Classic is the experience of forefathers,however,it is correct in many cases even today.Many classic books touch a string from generation to generation in spite of time and space.But if a culture really wants to gain an eternal life,it should change itself to catch up with the time and cater to the people in its age.Otherwise,the culture will be eliminated by modern society.It is significant to develop and improve constantly to ensure us to always keep up with the cutting edge of technologies and trends.Only reading the classics is not enough.We must acquire more advanced knowledge so as to keep pace with the development of study.Because of the social competition,we have no choice but to seize every opportunity to learn more.In addition,we equip ourselves with more knowledge to make our country more and more powerful.Though study and practice,we can take our responsibility to explore the unknown world and generate new understanding of man and nature.

Taking all these factors into consideration, we naturally come to the conclusion that we should start reading the treasures our ancestors left and taking the essence of the classics selectively.Meanwhile,we also have to continue to explore to discover the unknown so that we can keep pace with the ages.
