people是一个集体名词 是复数 ,还可以指民族,单数
person是指一个人 单数
3 persons=3 people
Three people were injured, two of them critically, after their small plane crashed in a farmer's field north of Toronto early Monday morning.

应该是3people
person是单数 people是其对应的复数
people是集体名词，意思是只要用就是一个复数
但是people有民族的意思 在这个意思上 它可以变成peoples
例子：there are 3 people in the room
屋子里有3个人
there are 56 peoples in China
中国有56个民族
